Minesnake (MZ-80 / MZ-700)

Minesnake for the Sharp MZ-80A Minesnake is a brand new game for the Sharp MZ-80A / MZ-1200 microcomputer. It offers a new take on the classic game Snake. Eat food to grow your snake, avoid eating your own tail and drop mines to reach areas in the levels where food is unreachable. Just try not to blow yourself up while you're at it! Game features: A main campaign with 21 hand-made levelsA random campaign with 10 levels that are different each timeAbility to play random or custom levels as well as regular old SnakeCool sounds and music by Kelp and ShellTwo bonus games – Astro Attackers and Dam Blasters Here's a video of the game being played on a real Sharp MZ-80A. The game was developed on and for the Sharp MZ-80A, and it was originally just meant to be played on that platform. But it works on MZ-80K and MZ-700 as well (with some small issues – please see the readme file for details). It can also be played using emulators, and we recommend EmuZ-80A by Toshiya Takeda and Hideki Suga. Minesnake is offered as a free download. If you wish, you may donate to thank the author. If you would instead like to buy the game on a real cassette, with cool cover art by Petko Mishev, please visit the Sharpworks Store! Minesnake was created by Joachim Froholt. This is the first game on our new homebrew label for the Sharp MZ-80A, Sharpworks, and all our releases are available on cassette from our store. NOTE: The .wav-files provided are not needed if you intend to play using emulators, only if you want to record the game to a cassette to play on a real machine. You can also use MZF-Studio to convert between .wav and .mzf. Are you wondering what the Sharp MZ-80A is? Visit MZ-80A Secrets for more info.
