The Egg Knight and the Dragon

Being a knight in service of the Undying Emperor is not easy, especially for someone like Adrian, the Egg Knight: oppressing the people of the Empire is against everything he's been taught, and if he could, he would kill the Emperor himself and bring his half-millennium reign to an end. But the Emperor is not only undying, but unkillable as well, and no one who dared defy him has ever lived to tell the tale; Adrian himself has been a witness to several futile attempts on the Emperor's life, each ending in complete failure.
