The Wrong Dungeon

You've been sent to a faraway dungeon to retrieve the king... But is it the right one? The Wrong Dungeon is an action-rpg, top-down roguelike with procedurally/randomly generated levels. Currently the game is still very early in development (Started roughly October 17th, 2025) with a lot left to be added, fixed, changed etc. There are bound to be some glitches, issues, things that aren't balanced, but anything I find or is mentioned to me I'll work on fixing asap. I do not take credit for creation of the color palette, audio assets, or sprite assets! I have only recolored and combined them from various artists, with the only current exception being the main attack animation. All the credits are listed in the game on the credits page. Last update for awhile! (3/19/26): After spending a lot of time trying to teach myself pixel art, I've come to the realization that art really isn't the type of thing you can teach yourself in a couple months, and that pixel art is its own complicated type of art that definitely isn't any easier than normal art to make look good. I've been able to make some non-animated things that look passable, but definitely not as good as any of the asset pack stuff I've found, or most other pixel art I've seen or been able to find. I'm still working on learning it, and I definitely have gotten better at altering existing pixel art to create slightly different versions of it etc, but I've decided that I'm going to try saving up some money and then eventually commissioning real artists- who've probably been making art for most of their lives lol- to make the main assets for me. In the meantime, I've been doing some more design work for my probably new game, which like I put in my last update will be fairly similar to this one. I do want to make sure that I have all the design work, or at least the majority of it, done before I start commissioning anything, mostly because I want to be positive that anything I'm paying more seriously for is something I really want to use in the game, and planning out everything fairly specifically in advance is a good way to do that. I'm also planning on looking into learning a bit more Unity, since I've mostly been using Game Maker up to this point and I've been wondering if Unity might end up being more flexible or useful in terms of getting over some hurdles I've dealt with before. Regardless, it'll probably take awhile for me to post or update anything related to this project, but I do want to get back to it eventually! Edit 5-14-26: Disregard the last small update, the project I was working on didn't pan out as well as I hoped it would. For the record, I am still trying to make games and work on new projects with the assets that are available to me, so I'm hoping to eventually get another small project up to the point I'm ready to make a page for it! Thanks for checking this out if you did!
