THE VOID JANITOR
About the Game The Void Janitor (O Zelador do VΓ‘cuo) is a claustrophobic horror game developed in Python + Pygame. You are the lone janitor of a monitoring station isolated in the vacuum. Your only connection to the outside world is a belt-attached radio that must remain tuned to a frequency that shifts without warning. Maintain the capsule's systems. Monitor the radar. And above all... do not let your sanity drop. Mechanics π» Interactive Radio Tuning The target frequency changes periodically. Drag the mouse over the radio panel to find the correct frequency amidst the static. Once tuned, mysterious messages begin to appear. π‘ Vector Scan Radar A creature moves silently toward you. It is only visible when the sonar sweep passes over itβand as time goes on, it approaches faster. π§ Dynamic Mental Sanity Sanity drops when out of tune and rises when tuned. Low sanity triggers visual effects (camera shake, vignette, grain, desaturation) and makes the entity more aggressive. π§ System Maintenance Three systems fail randomly: Ventilation, Cooling, and Power. Hold the click on the maintenance buttons for 2 seconds to repair. Failing systems increase the threat level of the entities. π 7-Day Cycle The difficulty scales progressively over approximately 56 minutes of gameplay. Radio tolerance decreases, stations swap faster, and the base threat level rises each day. Survival Tips Keep the radio tuned to regain sanity. Repair systems immediately as they fail. Pay close attention to the radarβif the creature gets too close, the capsule starts taking damage. The target frequency shifts periodicallyβkeep an eye on the TARGET: XX.X MHz indicator. Difficulty scales with each passing dayβuse the first days to master the mechanics. Development Notes Created as an experiment in narrative design and passive tension mechanics. Inspired by tension-management games like Iron Lung and Lethal Company, with mechanics influenced by games like FNAF. Credits Design, Code, and Art: Pedro (sleafe).
