The Most Pious Neighbour

A live-action microgame about piety, gossip, and the considerable moral importance of not being caught. God sees every sin. Fortunately, God is discreet. Your neighbours are not. In The Most Pious Neighbour, 2–4 respectable villagers gather around one player acting as God. Each neighbour conceals a coloured disc between their clasped hands. They must adopt increasingly inventive “pious” postures while attempting to glimpse—and publicly expose—one another’s hidden sins. Name another neighbour’s colour correctly, and they are cast out. Accuse them falsely, and you are cast out for lying to God. Naturally, everyone is only concerned with virtue.
