As a relational simulation, Wildfire3D fosters emergent understandings of the principles of fire behavior in relation to weather, vegetation and terrain features. Users can use management actions to influence how fires spread through the virtual landscape, such as vegetation removal, fire suppression and ignition. These actions mirror wildland fire fighting techniques that are employed around the world, and can also be used to manage forest composition.
