You are trapped inside a library. You must solve the puzzle to escape. Just be careful... You may not be alone. This game was made for the Hawktober Horrors 2026 Jam but we plan on improving it to release an update after the jam ends. Due to an issue we had during development and time constraints, we couldn't add proper visual elements to explain how the game functions. We will try to give a concise explanation here for the time being, and we also separated the hints from the solutions. Controls: To play the game you need mouse and keyboard. For almost every interaction you only need to press 'E' and you can cancel them by pressing 'Q'. The cube you will come accross has a second interaction menu that you can enter after selecting a face and pressing 'E' again. After that, you need to use your mouse to choose one of the different options. As with the other interactive menus, you can press 'Q' to exit it. Main title song made by bralsra. Help for the puzzle: If you don't want any kind of hints or the solution, you can stop reading here. Hints: If you are reading this while the jam hasn't finished yet, then the best hint we can give you is that the puzzles are not complex. Just focus on what the notes say.You need to find the key words for each room and input them in the cube. To accomplish that, you need to know where each word comes from relative to the cube faces. The arrows you find in the rooms are meant to help you orientate yourself and all of them point to the cube's room. Each note mentions a different book and tells you where to find it. You can see what they look like when you start your playthorough in a pile of books of the first level. Here there are images of how they look to help you filter them: Solutions: Find the books Books spawn in specific shelves but in a randomized positoin. You can interact with every book that is in your reach. Each note tells you where to find the book of its respective room. The hand book can be found in the elevator's room on the shelves to the left side of it (considering that you are facing the table right after coming out of the elevator). In the room facing forward the elevator's room (again, assuming your forward is the one you have right after you exit the elevator) you can find the pumpkin book in the first shelves you see when you enter that room.To find the clownfish book you need to have identified the entity's room before it. The entity is hidden in a specific room and in order to find it you need to look directly at it (it will become opaque after you look at it for 1 second). You can also easily identify it by hearing its whispers. The room where they come from is the room where it is hiding. For the jam's version of the game, the entity will always be in the room with the food section (the one where you find the pumpkin's book). The clownfish book is located in the cube's room. It is on the shelves on the right side of the wall that connects to the entity's room. The stars book can be found in the same room as the note that mentions constellations (the space section). It is located on the first shelves you see when you enter said room coming from the biomes section room (the biomes room is located to the left side of the space section's arrow). The desert book is found in the biomes room. It is on the left side of the wall that connects to the elevator room. The curse book is found in the fantasy section. It is on the first shelves you see when you come from the food section. Solving the cubeOnce you find all books and interact with them, you will notice they contain a word inside. Go to the cube's room and interact with it. You need to figure out where each key book is located relative to the cube. At this point you probably have figured that the rooms connect the same way the faces of a cube do. Each arrow inside the different rooms points to the cube's room. Here is an image to give you an idea: That's the reason why the elevator's room has an arrow pointing up. The eye in the cube represents the entity's room and the red face represents the room you are in (the cube's room). Having those two rooms as reference, you can figure out the layout if you imagine the cube unwrapped:Once the cube is shaped again, you can match words like this:- The top face of the cube (red one) corresponds to Luma.- The front face of the cube (the eye) corresponds to Zuno.- The left face of the cube (from the cube's pov) corresponds to Mavo.- The right face of the cube (from the cube's pov) corresponds to Orven.- The back face of the cube corresponds to Rilo.- The bottom face of the cube corresponds to Vexa.
