SHUFFLE & SLAY

The game is based on the famous card game Scoundrel (so famous that I hadn’t heard of it until I saw a video of it on TikTok). The gameplay tries to follow the same rules as the original game, but adapts them for a digital format rather than the physical version (which you can play with a simple deck of poker cards, just to give you an idea). This is my first real project made with Godot. How to Play Shuffle & Slay is a solo dungeon-crawler card game. Survive as long as you can, defeat monsters, and make it through the entire deck alive. The Deck: The game uses a standard 44-card deck (no Jokers, no red face cards, no red Aces). ♠ ♣ Spades & Clubs → Monsters. Their value is their damage. ♦ Diamonds → Weapons. Their value is their combat strength. ♥ Hearts → Potions. Their value is how much HP they restore. Rooms: Each room shows you 4 cards. You must resolve 3 of them, one at a time. The 4th card stays and becomes part of the next room. Fighting Monsters: When you pick a Monster card, you can fight it either barehanded (full damage to your HP) or with your equipped weapon (damage = monster value − weapon value, minimum 0). Weapons: Picking up a Weapon card equips it immediately, replacing your previous one. A weapon can only be used against monsters weaker than the last one it defeated — if a monster is too strong, you'll need to fight barehanded or equip a new weapon. Potions: Drinking a Potion restores HP up to your max (20). You can only drink one Potion per room — any extra Potion in the same room is simply discarded. Skipping Rooms: If you don't like the room you're in, you can skip it entirely — but not two rooms in a row. Winning & Losing You lose if your HP reaches 0. You win by making it through the entire deck.
