Pokemon CardBound

Pokémon Cardbound https://discord.gg/2xHWmMQrZ This is a roguelike game inspired by POKÉMON OVERLORD. A huge thanks to jab-lao for creating such an amazing game and for providing both the inspiration and the base battle engine behind this project. Current Version You can already jump in and start a run! At the moment, the game features Generation I Pokémon only, but plenty of new content and future generations are planned. You begin each run with Caterpie and Pidgey, both starting with IV +1. Persistent IV Progression One of the core progression systems is Species IVs. Every time you obtain a Pokémon of the same species, you have a chance to permanently improve that species' IVs. This means that every Caterpie, Pidgey, Bulbasaur, and every other Pokémon you collect helps make future runs stronger. Even unsuccessful runs contribute to your long-term progression. After choosing the team you'll start your adventure with, you'll enter the run map. (The visuals are still under development—this is only a placeholder for now.) Along the way you'll encounter many different types of nodes, including: Battles Elite Battles Random Events Shops ...and much more! The game currently includes over 100 unique map events, ensuring that every run feels different and offers new choices and challenges. After winning a battle, you'll have a chance to catch one of the defeated enemy Pokémon (selected at random), provided you still have Poké Balls available. Fast-Paced Battles Battles are designed to be fast-paced, typically lasting around one minute. Each team can have up to three Pokémon. Before combat, you decide which Pokémon will be placed on the front row and which will stay in the back row. Pokémon in the back row are protected from most attacks while at least one ally remains in the front row. However, they receive a 30% Speed penalty, creating meaningful positioning decisions. Each Pokémon has: 2 Move Slots 1 Ability Slot Before every battle, you can customize your loadout depending on the enemies you're about to face. (Battle system inspired by Pokémon Overlord by jab-lao.) Random Move Generation Every Pokémon is generated with a randomized moveset chosen from a species-specific move pool. For example, an Ivysaur may receive moves such as: Tackle Vine Whip Razor Leaf Cut Only a selection of these moves will be assigned, meaning no two Ivysaur are guaranteed to be the same. As your Pokémon level up, they'll also be able to learn new attacks from additional move pools for each slot. This allows two Pokémon of the same species to develop completely different builds. For example, one Ivysaur might end up with Cut and Vine Whip, while another could learn Headbutt and Leaf Storm. This creates a huge amount of variety and replayability across different runs. I'm also working on TM items that can be found inside booster packs, allowing you to customize and optimize your Pokémon even further. Inventory & Items Throughout your adventure you'll collect and manage a wide variety of items. The game features: 🎒 A backpack to store your items during each run. 🛡️ Held Items that can dramatically change how your Pokémon perform in battle. 💎 Mega Stones to unlock powerful Mega Evolutions. 🎁 Booster Packs containing valuable rewards, including TMs and other useful items. Managing your inventory and deciding which items to use is an important part of every successful run. Gym Leaders Let's collect all the Kanto badges and find the bonus, secrets, legend trainers, etc! Special Forms And that's not all! One of the most exciting features planned is the inclusion of special Pokémon variants. You'll be able to discover incredibly rare Pokémon, including: ✨ Shiny Pokémon Mega Evolutions Gigantamax Forms ...and more surprises in the future! These special variants won't just be cosmetic—they may be significantly stronger than their regular counterparts, making them exciting long-term goals and game-changing additions to your collection.
