Tiny Conquerors
Tiny Conquerors is a real-time strategy game played at ant scale. You command a colony in one open field, gather twigs and crumbs from the grass around you, and build an army to take the rival colony's anthill before they take yours. If you have played Age of Empires, you already know how to play this. If you have not, the treaty at the start of a match gives you a few quiet minutes to work it out. This is a Beta We are building this as a graduation project and we are looking for playtesters. The game is playable start to finish, but a lot of the art is still placeholder and the balance is barely touched. Rough edges are expected. Telling us about them is the entire point. Build: 0.2 for Windows, 43~ MB Length: roughly 20 minutes for one match Players: one, against an AI opponent How to Play: The basics: Destroy the enemy anthill to win. Lose yours and the match is over. A treaty runs at the start of the match. Neither side attacks until it ends, so use it to build an economy. When the treaty ends the enemy starts sending waves at you. They get bigger.Destroying enemy military buildings and collecting sugar cubes across the map will increase your final game score. Resources: Twigs are in every cost, so twig income sets your pace. Breadcrumbs pay for units and unit upgrades. Leaves pay for buildings and building upgrades. Sugar cubes are rare, sit around the edge of the map, and are never spent. Collecting them is a bonus objective worth score.Workers bank what they gather on the spot, so there is no walking loads back to a drop-off point. Controls: Left click to select. Drag a box to select several. Double click to select every unit of that type on screen. Right click to move, attack, gather or build, depending on what you clicked. Shift and left click to queue orders. Shift while placing buildings to lay down a row of them. Escape backs out one step at a time: the building you are placing, then your selection, then the pause menu. Move the camera with the mouse at the screen edge, or click and drag on the minimap. Alternatively, you can pan the camera with WASD. Rally points: select a building and right click to set where its new units walk to. What We Want to Know: Anything at all is useful, but these are the questions we cannot answer ourselves: Did you understand what to do without being told? Where did you get stuck? Was the treaty long enough to get set up, or too long before anything happened? Did the first wave feel fair, or did it arrive before you had any chance? Could you tell your units from theirs? Did anything stop responding, get stuck, or behave in a way that felt broken? Did you finish the match? If not, where did you stop, and why? Alternatively, please fill out this form after playing: Feedback Form Known Issues: Most buildings are grey placeholder boxes. The real models are being made now.Units are not fully animated yet. There is very little audio.Balance is untuned. Costs, unit stats and wave sizes will all change. The enemy AI does not gather resources. It trains from a fixed income. Installation Instructions: Download, unzip the whole folder, and run Tiny Conquerors.exe.Keep the exe and its data folder together. Moving the exe on its own will not work.
