Controls: WASD to move, mouse to look around Press E to toggle your camera and Q to clean it. F to interact. --------------- In this short puzzle game light is the brush upon your canvas. Try your best to figure out how it bounces off objects and replicate the three images to beat the game! --------------- Reflection on theme: Black and white visuals in a game scream "charm" to me, but the problem is that I don't have the abilities to make the assets for such a charming game. Instead I opted to make something which had a mechanic that relied on black and white, and since they're shades what better to use than light! Just so happens that this also fits in perfectly with my area of expertise as I'm interested in light effects. Can't wait to see how other people tackled it, especially those who also went for a mechanical approach. Honestly really interesting first theme and makes me excited for what's to come! Reflection on game: Honestly did not realize we were supposed to write about the theme but since I already wrote a reflection on this I may as well leave it here haha Not completely unsatisfied with this result but certainly a far cry from how I envisioned it. Very very unpolished on the visual end (namely the UI components) and the puzzle itself is quite simple. Happy enough with how the mechanical implementation turned out with how the light accumulates on the camera as well as the interaction system being very elegant in the backend. I did have to pivot slightly from directly comparing pixels to using a separate algorithm someone else came up with due to the fact that it takes thirty years to read pixels from a Canvas Render Target 2D. If I were to put more time into this I would definitely first try to make it look more visually appealing, and once that's done I'd spend more time on the puzzles. I would have loved to incorporate the mirror into the puzzle but I really just could not figure out how. I was also thinking of having some text very dimly present on the wall which gave a hint if you had all the lights off which would have factored into the mirror puzzle but I just did not have the vision to put it all together into one cohesive experience. In the end I did at the least get one puzzle which made use of the fact that light accumulates on the camera which I'm happy enough with!
