Mercury's Liberation
LIBERATION AWAITS So you decided to come to Mercury? Good on you, soldier. You're going to head up a squad of liberators tasked with heading out into the unforgiving wastes of the planet Mercury and bringing back the poor souls you find out there. Believe me when I tell you it's hotter than a truck driver's armpit in July out there. You gotta stick to the shadows, be smart... and watch out for dissidents. Mercury's Liberation was made for the 15th Pirate Jam by; AIAb3agzJustin HelpsPandacoderPhrixious The Game Design Document can be found here! The themes for the jam were Shadows and Alchemy. Our interpretation of shadows is straightforward; the game takes place on the planet Mercury, where it's over 400 degrees Celsius in the daylight. You must guide your squad around the planet's surface, staying in the shadows, and liberating the people you find. Our alchemy interpretation is a little more subtle in that we are transmuting the limited resources of the planet into something we can use. As for what those resources are... well you'll just have to play the game. How to Play You can play the game entirely with the mouse, though some keys are mapped. A detailed tutorial is provided in the game that explains what buttons do what. The goal of the game is to find all of the people in need of liberation on a given map and lead them back to the base.
