Kiki and Bouba
Do you believe yourself to have truly risen beyond preconceived assumptions, stereotypes and mental models? Do you believe you can successfully separate the individual from the binary? It is a hard thing to come to terms with, but each person has their own set of subconscious biases, even you. Perhaps dissociating from the familiarity and the rules of our world and diving into a new, make-belief world of rudimentary shapes and imaginary genders could help you notice your preconceptions better? The goal of the game is simple and straightforward: pick a name between Bouba and Kiki and assign it to the two dimensional shapes in front of you. This game will aim to challenge you, the player, to reconsider how your perception of a person changes depending on their personality and the way they perform their gender identity. How harmful can subconsciously putting a person (or, in this case, a shape) into a box really be? And how often do you do it?
