DF Design (1987-2025) (V2.0 Available Now) Sam is back on the speccy after a 39 year absence with a brand new fast action poker game! Her original poker game from 1986 went down in history and continues to be remembered fondly on ZX Spectrum sites with new versions still being created, including a recent one for the Gameboy ! Now the grainy, page 3 like pics of the 80s have been updated in this brand new fan-made homebrew game and addition to the ZX Spectrum's continuing renaissance. Using recovered unreleased code originally produced in 1987 and modern sound engines, this new speccy game celebrates one of the most photographed women of the 80s and acclaimed International popstar, Samantha Fox once again. Featuring: Video digitised 1-bit classic images Four games each with a different set of brand new images , sound and playing style Modern sound engines covering seven of Sam's tunes, jingles and samples Sam's Guide to Playing the game: OK Foxys, let's simplify things. We've now got 3 cards, we bet, we raise, we call or we fold, it's as simple as that. If you win all my money, I'll show a classic 80s pin-up pose and it'll be just like the old days tee hee. If I win all your money, well, let's see how game you are! Rules: The game is a loose derivative of 3 card poker Each player initially pays an ante of £5 into the pot The player can then decide whether to bet, fold or call If bet is chosen then the next player can decide to raise in increments of £5 up to a max of £25 in the first round, fold or call Folding means you give up the hand and the other player wins the pot Calling at this point means you can swap either 1 card (press 1-3) or zero cards (press enter) Now play enters the 2nd round where betting, raising, folding and calling are the same as round one except when calling, Sam's cards are shown and the winner of the pot decided. Ranking of hands High card (ace is high) - a single high card where the other 2 cards are discarded Pair (2 cards of the same value, the other card is discarded) Flush (3 cards in the same suit) Straight (3 consecutive cards of any suit) Three of a kind (3 cards of the same value, ace is high) Straight flush (3 consecutive cards in the same suit) **If both players hands are the same, the player who CALLed LOSES, so CALL wisely** Pin-Up Poker When Sam's money is less than or equal to zero she displays one of her classic pin-up pictures. When the player's is less than or equal to zero they can decide how to forfeit ;) If the player or Sam loses all their money then they revert back to their previous pin-up or forfeit level and play continues. This version has AI tweaks which make Sam a bit less gung ho in her betting and a bit more challenging 'poker-lite' game (as Crash called it), if you find V1.0 a bit easy. I've also updated the ZX Touch download** Using the free 'RetroArch' emulator App on the Apple App store, Sam can now be played on an iPhone :) Just download the TAP files in the download section and 'Import Content' into Retro Arch then choose the 'Sinclair - ZX Spectrum (Fuse)' core.
