C64 Danger Dennis
Devlab/TSA is very proud to present to you our Commodore 64 game Danger Dennis. This is a C64 port of the Amiga game with the same name, which is also still in development. This jump’n’run game is loosely inspired by the gameplay mechanics of Mr. Robot and His Robot Factory. Compatible with theC64 mini, theC64 and theVIC20 (in C64 mode). If you’re using an SD2IEC on your C64, the game may throw an error during loading (ERROR: Failed to mute device). This happens because of the game’s fastloader. Just unplug the device for a moment, after that the game will run without any issues. We’d really appreciate it if you could RATE the game.It would help us a lot! Our hero Dennis bought popcorn and energy drinks for a gaming night with his pal Hagen. Unfortunately he slipped and dropped his purchase. A sudden gust of wind scattered the popcorn and drinks all over the city. "Great! What now? The evening is ruined without popcorn and energy drinks and Hagen is waiting for me. The shop has already closed Dennis thought dejected. "No way, nothing will ruin my gaming night! I will pick up every single piece of popcorn even if its the last thing I do! " And so it begins.... Use the joystick in port 2 to control Dennis. Your goal in each level is to collect all the popcorn by running across the platforms. Don’t touch the monsters, if you do, you’ll lose a life! From now on, items won’t be picked up automatically when you walk over them. You’ll need to press down on the controller to grab things like the shield, energy drink, or extra life. Picking up an energy drink triggers a short animation that you’ll have to wait through, so think twice before grabbing it right then and there! The energy effect now remains active for the entire round and does not expire. Once you've collected all the popcorn, a door will open. You need to reach it before time runs out! Make it to the door in time, and you'll complete the level and move on to the next one. The game is still in development, and for the C64 version we’re taking the Amiga version as our reference. Right now we’re converting the game into a disk version so we can also fit in the 50 levels that were planned for the Amiga release! If you’ve got more ideas for the game, please write us or join our Discord for direct contact with the developers.
