Haul All Lemons
PLEASE READ: This game contains no tutorial so this description will serve as the game's manual. HINT: Try touching the space lightning (the yellow flash that appears after the crosshair symbol rotates), it does something really good. . . STORY: You are employees of the Lemon Corporation, a monopoly which has a strangle hold on the production and distribution of lemons throughout the entirety of the known universe. Your job is to deliver those lemons from one point to another. You’ll face many challenges along the way, but you can overcome them using your radar, missiles, shield, and the other gadgets that come with your ship. Tagging along is S0MA, a mechanical companion that will make sure everything on the ship is working properly (as long as you keep him calm). You’re paid by the mile, so work as hard as you can for as long as you can until your energy reserves dry and you disappear into the emptiness of deep-space. Not to worry though, your employer will be quick to pretend like you never existed and replace you with someone else… But until then . . . Haul . . . All . . . Lemons! GAMEPLAY SUMMARY: This is an arcade-style game where your goal is to safely pilot your ship while managing its energy consumption. Your energy constantly drains over time (as you make use of your ship’s equipment), so you’ll have to carefully consider every action you take. Try to keep improving your score and get on the global leaderboard! CONTROLS: The gameplay scene is divided into three distinct windows: the Radar Screen (left), the Crew Screen (upper right), and the Input Screen (lower right). The Crew Screen provides information to you, whereas the Radar Screen and Input Screen are manipulated by the player using: the A and D keys to horizontally move the ship (on the Radar Screen)the mouse (left click to interact with the equipment/buttons on the Input Screen which are described in more detail below). EQUIPMENT: Energy is constantly consumed over time, however the rate of this energy consumption can be manipulated. There are 3 different mechanisms to which energy can be allocated: Engine: Increase and decrease the energy allocated to this module in order to control the speed your ship travels at. Certain settings of this module are more efficient than others in terms of energy consumed per mile. . . Radar: Increase and decrease the energy allocated to this module in order to control the rate at which radar pulses are emitted. The radar is essential in detecting asteroids and energy pickups.Subsystems: A set of 3 unique modules. The indicator (the black node) must be next to the subsystem which you wish to activate. Click on a subsystem's button in order to either move the indicator towards it or activate it. The subsystems are: Missile: Shoots a missile from the ship. Can be used to destroy asteroids.Shield: Forms a shield around the ship for a limited amount of time. This makes the ship immune to contact damage from asteroids.Repair: Repairs any broken subsystem. The subsystem that is repaired is chosen automatically. Activating this subsystem does NOT heal any damage that might have been done to the energy bar. PERKS: Once you reach one of your destinations you’ll be rewarded with 3 perks to choose from. These will have varying effects like improving the efficiency of your systems or providing you with a new ability. Select the one you want, and you’ll be on your way to your next destination. COMMANDS: Built into your ship is a "Series 0 Mechanical Authority", or "S0MA" for short. At random he will issue a command to you. If you do not follow his command, he will angrily lash out and destroy one of the ship’s subsystems. SCORE: There are many ways to increase your score: Your score will be constantly increasing since you gain points proportional to how far you travelPoints can also be gained by destroying asteroids (different methods of destruction yeild varying amounts of points)collecting energy pick ups (the green diamonds and red diamonds)absorbing space lighting
