The Serious Game Card Game

Your group is a team of game designers and developers, contracted by a client to work on the development of a serious game. Due to everyone’s busy schedules, your team is only able to meet every so often with the client, and you have a schedule to follow with a deadline for your Minimum Viable Product to be pushed out. In the initial stages of development, when conceptualizing and prototyping, the client has mentors that will help prompt your team to carefully consider the worlds of Triadic Game Design (Reality, Meaning, Play) and the balance between the three. In the later stages of development, the client will gather external playtesters to collect feedback on the alpha and beta builds of the game, alongside any feedback the client gives. Finally, your team will put it all together, finalizing details such as the name of the game, its call to action, and target audience. Not only does the client have certain wants for the game, each team member also has strong opinions on how the game should be shaped based on their personal wants. About The Serious Game Game: The Serious Game Card Game (SGG) is a card game to primarily be used as a design exercise for players to engage with the development process of serious games as if they were contracted by a client through the Triadic Game Design framework, no matter their level of familiarity with Triadic Game Design or serious games.
