SKULL CAVE
"Discover the secret of a shifting skull-shaped dungeon that houses a confused mind´s insights." The goal of this module is to emulate the feeling of necessary improvisation to show how it can boost narrative. Not the low-level, vague improvisation without meaning for characters and narrative that we all do from time to time - ok, sometimes it can happen, and I'm not judging because I would be judging ME! - but the purposeful, focused improvisation that we learned to do over time, with character growth and world development always in mind. It should be a dynamic reactivity to each interaction the characters have with the dungeon. Failure and success do not mean static binary results. Questions about the environment can modify it according to players’ interest in fictional positioning. And yes, these decisions and this fluidity need not be only the GM's responsibility. The improvisation we developed was collaborative among all the players of the game, GM included. Skull Cave is inspired by the OSR movement with narrative touches.
