These tunnels are like a labyrinth—nonsensical, intricate, and full of dangers. The tunnels are also known as "dungeons". Due to the threat from the dungeons that reaches the outside world, a new profession is born: the "adventurer".Those who survive the dangers and successfully seal the dungeons are rewarded with fame, gold, and items from the foreign world. Mechanics **The Deeper The Darker** is a rogue-like, loot-based dungeon crawler heavily inspired by the anime dungeon/guild setting.You step into the role of an adventurer and take on quests.On these quests, you venture into labyrinthine dungeons that can drive you insane. Around every corner lurk undead skeletons and giant spiders.The dungeons hold not only dangers but also gold, equipment, and materials.To close the dungeon, all Dungeon Hearts must be destroyed.If you fail and die, all the equipment left in the dungeon will be lost forever.However, losing items can be avoided by having your favorite gear enchanted by the sorceress.Once your greatsword is bound to you, you can have it upgraded by the blacksmith without fear.Missing something? Then you can check in with the merchant. He might have a god roll or two for sale.With time and experience, you rise in adventurer rank and can take on more challenging quests. Elements Over time, you build a set that synergizes well together.Items can be stored in your own chest at the tavern.Important items should be used carefully until they are bound to you. With accumulated experience, you reach intermediate stages, and then the next rank.This unlocks new dungeons and enemies, allowing you to get accustomed to the initial foes. There are smaller side quests/challenges that you can optionally complete. A storyline guide in the dungeons adds a minimal touch, giving the game depth and soul.
