The Voice of the Past

The protagonist is a modern teenager, acquiring an ever-growing detachment from their culture and traditions. In this age, they are fascinated by Western trends and foreign values, seeing their heritage as something belated, carrying neither beauty nor significance in today’s world. During a visit to a museum that seemed so ordinary, everything changed. Around silent exhibits and dusty glass cases, the main character catches the soft murmur of something that shouldn't exist — a dombra. Near a broken instrument, preserved only halfway, they notice an ancient plaque recounting a forgotten legend: Long ago, two brothers lived together. While the younger one spent his days playing the dombra, the older one sought glory, dreamed of building the stone bridge. One day, in a fit of anger, the older brother hit the dombra against the rock; it shattered. The dombra disappeared, but the mark had remained in the stone. Many years later, people noticed this impression and made a dombra according to it, and songs began to sound again in the village. As the legend is read, it starts to unravel reality. Suddenly, the main character is transported to the 17th century, into the time of Tauke Khan. From this moment on, the story unfolds in the first person so that players can experience their thoughts, doubts, and emotional transformation firsthand. To return to his time, the main character must find the other half of the dombra, which was lost far in the past and was hidden by history.
