Space Pests: First-Person Shooter Prototype Welcome to Space Pests, a chaotic, low-poly first-person shooter prototype! This project focuses on rapid action and stylized low-poly art, built using Unity and C#. About the Game This prototype throws you into a sterile, futuristic space station that has been overrun by a bizarre assortment of blocky, low-poly invaders. Your mission is simple: grab your trusty, oversized weapon and eradicate the infestation in a frantic, arcade-style skirmish. Test your aim and reflexes against the invaders! Features Low-Poly Visuals: A distinct, stylized art direction with simple geometry and clean environments contrasted by goofy, blocky enemies. Immediate FPS Action: Fast-paced, arena-style combat focused purely on shooting and dodging enemies. Unique Enemies: Confront strange, cube-shaped and cucumber-like pests with distinct movement patterns. Health & Score System: Track your remaining health and earn points by eliminating the pests. Responsive UI: Clear screens for main menu, in-game score, and end-of-game states. A Learning Journey This FPS prototype was developed to explore critical game development concepts, shifting the focus from 2D platforming to 3D systems: 3D Character Controller: Implementing smooth, first-person camera and movement controls. Raycasting & Hit Detection: Logic for accurate projectile shooting and damage registration. AI/Pathfinding Basics: Simple enemy movement and threat reaction logic. Low-Poly Asset Creation: Implementing a consistent and performant low-poly art style. UI/HUD Integration: Displaying score, health, and crosshairs in the 3D environment.
