Main Menu Choose New Defense to start a new run. Choose Continue or Load Game if you already have a save. Open Settings to change language, audio volume, or game speed. 2. Hero Selection Pick a demon hero before entering battle. Each hero has a different role, attack style, passive direction, and progression value. More heroes can be unlocked through gate research. 3. Battle Combat progresses automatically, but your build choices matter. Defeat adventurers to earn resources, protect the gate, watch for hero and grand-hero enemies, and use upgrades to keep pace with rising pressure. 4. Construction Unlock production buildings, traps, and launchers, then place them on hill slots. Buildings create minions, while traps and launchers damage, slow, poison, burn, pull, or burst enemy groups. 5. Research and Upgrades Spend resources on gate research, construction upgrades, minion skill upgrades, and hero growth. Upgrade costs and effects scale over time, so plan around your current run economy. 6. Defeat and Rewind If the gate falls, the run enters a game-over countdown and then rewinds time. Use the next run to push farther with stronger unlocks, better construction choices, and improved long-term progression. // TIPS Unlock a tier-1 construction early so your economy does not stall. Mix minion production and traps instead of relying on only one defense type. Pause placed constructions when you need to save upkeep or meat. Upgrade the gate before ranged adventurers start pressuring it too hard. Use artifacts and hero unlocks for long-term progress across rewinds.
