Spiral Spire

An archival copy of the demo for an unreleased game called Spiral Spire, developed anonymously and released in the early 2000s for personal computers. The lost demo is intact and fully playable in this release, with additional maps that were previously inaccessible. "Spiral Spire" was an ambitious project, a dungeon-crawling adventure that promised players the chance to ascend the eponymous tower floor by treacherous floor. Developed by a single obscure developer whose identity remains unknown, the game emerged during the early 2000s, when independent gaming was still in its infancy. Today, the game’s playable demo is kept alive by internet archivists like myself, who remain intrigued by the developer’s haunted past and the game’s subsequently turbulent development.
