The Abyssal Catalog: Void Idle
What is this? The Abyssal Catalog is a horror-themed incremental game where you're a "Cataloger" clicking through increasingly weird and dangerous anomalies. Think SCP meets Cookie Clicker, but with a CRT monitor aesthetic and existential dread. You start clicking strange entities to death, earning entropy to buy upgrades. Pretty standard idle game stuff at first—until you realize the things you're cataloging are noticing you back. What you actually do Click anomalies. Buy automated subroutines. Research forbidden tech. Fight bosses. Get stronger. Prestige to loop back with permanent bonuses. But here's where it gets interesting: there are 16 different enemy types, each with their own annoying mechanics. Regenerating enemies heal over time. Armored ones tank damage. Some drain your entropy when you hit them. One type literally copies your DPS and uses it against you. You've got 10 active skills with cooldowns, 8 equipment slots to min-max, and a research tree with 25+ upgrades. There's also this whole narrative about Dr. Valadis and the DPA that unfolds as you play—memory fragments, glitched logs, the whole nine yards. Progression 1,000 stages across 10 reality tiers. Every 10 stages is a boss fight. Hit stage 100 and you can prestige for Memory Fragments (permanent +10% damage each). There are 6 different prestige paths that completely change how you play. Early game is chill. Mid-game gets strategic. Late game is where the optimization addicts thrive. The vibe Neon cyan and purple on void black. Scanline overlays. Screen glitches when reality breaks. Synthesized audio that gets more unsettling the deeper you go. It's like playing an old terminal that wasn't meant to be found. The story is there if you want it—fragmented and creepy. Or ignore it and watch numbers go up. Both work. Performance note I built a canvas-based particle system specifically so this thing doesn't lag even with hundreds of effects on screen. Autoclickers won't break it. You can min-max to your heart's content. What's next The foundation is solid and designed to be expanded. More anomaly types, challenge modes, deeper story branches—the architecture supports it all. But right now, what's here is complete and playable start to finish. If you like incremental games with actual mechanics (not just waiting), horror aesthetics, and games that respect your time, this might be your jam. Controls: Click to attack. That's it. Everything else is just buying upgrades and making choices. Saves: Auto-saves to your browser. No account needed. Price: Free. No ads. No micro-transactions. Just a weird game about cataloging the void. Fair warning: This gets weird around stage 200. You'll know what I mean when you get there.
